About
Head of AI at Certivity, a regulation-tech company helping manufactured goods companies manage compliance and homologation requirements. My team builds a regulatory compliance agent for global customers.
Before Certivity, I led Product at Jina AI (acq. by Elastic), a foundation-model company where I contributed to the development of embedding models and small language models. Before that, I led teams of software engineers, data scientists, and data engineers at Munich Re — the world’s largest reinsurance company — solving underwriting, pricing, and analytics problems through augmented data management.
I hold a doctorate from the Chair of Software and Systems Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. My research concerned the compositional analysis of large-scale software through smart combinations of fuzzing and machine learning. A selection of my publications is on Google Scholar.
What I write about
AI economics, ML systems, enterprise adoption, open-source vs. commercial software, and security in machine learning. The common thread is a skepticism toward hype — I’m interested in what actually works when a technology meets a budget, a deadline, and a non-technical user.
